Wanting to go for New Year, don't bother, all the bars close at 3pm and do not open again until midnight. If you want to see the all the fireworks you will have to wait in Times Square for around 9 hours in minus degrees. Other than that, it's great. Will go again, but in the summer.
Do i actually have to say anything here? Stayed at the roosevelt. Location 10/10 5 min walk to Times Sqr, few min to Grand Central Station for the subway. Get a day/fewdays/week subway ticket, you will save rather than paying seperate. Went in January. Very snowy, central park was 4 foot in snow :D Best place ever
would reccommend newyork as a cool city break and for anyone looking for a shop till you drop, our hotel was located in manhatten which was just moments from the world famous times square, liberty island is well worth a visit or why not hop on board many of the city tour busses which take you up and down town,if shows are your theme then why not take a visit to broadway where there are many shows or if you like to take it easy take a nice stroll round central park.the doller rates are very compettitive to the uk pound and its well worth the value, new york is definatly a city of dreams so book a trip there and make yours come true.
