The Grand Aigle is officially a 2 star but its diverse range of public areas and facilities give guests both a comfortable and fun stay.

Location:

The property is ideally situated right on a piste with guaranteed snow. Beginners can practice on the nursery slope by the hotel or walk for 5-6 minutes to the Frejus lift to be taken to a wide selection of slopes to start off from. More advanced skiers can ski for 2 minutes down to the Pontillas gondola and be taken straight up to the ski area. A red run takes you back to the hotel. In the evening it is a short walk to Villeneuve, which is a lively, traditional village with a range of excellent shops, bars and restaurants offering fantastic local mountain specialties.

Serre Chevalier is one of the best ski regions in France, and possibly the world, with over 250kms of piste covering 4 areas. Serre Chevalier itself is made up of four villages: Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monetier.  Serre Chevalier's snow record is excellent. Most slopes face north so it can be pretty cold but as you go higher, you are virtually guaranteed the irresistible double whammy: great snow and brilliant sunshine.

Beginners:

There is a vast array of cruising blues that novices and snow-ploughers will enjoy – perfect for practicing those important first turns.

Intermediate:

Intermediates of all levels will get the best out of a Serre Chevalier ski holiday. Blues and reds cover the whole area giving that enjoyable sense of journey. There's a fantastic variety of intermediate runs from wide motorways, challenging reds winding through the forest and fast schusses but without the danger of accidentally going off piste!

Advanced:

Ski holidays in Serre Chevalier give advanced skiers loads of challenging reds, long blacks and tough mogul fields as well as virtually unlimited off-piste through hidden valleys and glades.

Snowboarding:

Offers superb terrain at Monetier in particular. It's a snowboarder's heaven! Serre Chevalier is like one big adventure park, there's so much variety, with lots of long tree runs, the 200 metres long Aravet half pipe and the snowboard cross, a run with 7 turns fitted and a vertical drop, you will always be kept busy.
