Cardiff Airport is close to Rhoose in the Vale of Glamorgan 12 miles west of Cardiff and 10 miles from junction 33 on the M4. The airport started life in the early 1940s as a wartime satellite aerodrome and training base named RAF Rhoose and now carries 1.2 million passengers a year.
There are several hotels for overnight stays and conveniently located car parking with fantastic rates. Trains connects Rhoose Cardiff International Airport Station to Cardiff Central and Bridgend with trains running every hour from Monday to Saturday and every two hours on Sundays. A complimentary shuttle bus service is available for passengers with a valid train ticket which connects with all trains to carry passengers on the short journey to the airport terminal. Travelling by bus to and from Cardiff Airport is easy and convenient with good connections between the airport and Cardiff city centre. Checker Cars is the airport’s official taxi operator and offers a 24 hour service.
